Yukon Innovation Week 2020

A week-long celebration that builds momentum and fosters connections among northern innovators, entrepreneurs, partners, funders, and tech friends within the Yukon Startup and Tech Community during  #CanadianInnovationWeek.

Join us for this second of a two-part online recording on the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurial thinking in government. Part two of the series will examine how we foster long-term economic growth in Calgary and Alberta.

The panel will present concrete ideas on how the public sector and policy innovators can work together to help spur a value-added economy in a tough climate of low oil prices and post-COVID recovery. Professor Mariana Mazzucato holds the Chair in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value and is Founder and Director of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, University College London (UCL). Her highly acclaimed book The Entrepreneurial State: debunking public vs. private sector myths was on the 2013 Books of the Year list of the Financial Times.

Her next book The Value of Everything was the winner of the 2018 Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought and was shortlisted for the Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year 2018.
