Yukon Innovation Week 2020
A week-long celebration that builds momentum and fosters connections among northern innovators, entrepreneurs, partners, funders, and tech friends within the Yukon Startup and Tech Community during #CanadianInnovationWeek.
In partnership with the University of Calgary, Northlight Innovation is proud to invite you to this first of a two-part online recording on the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurial thinking in government.
The first part of the event is a live online discussion with Mariana Mazzucato, a global thought leader on innovation and one of Bloomberg’s ‘50 ones to watch’ for 2019. The discussion will explore how entrepreneurial public actors can work to ensure strategic innovation-led growth and economic value creation, and conversely, what can hinder them from doing so? Professor Mariana Mazzucato holds the Chair in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value and is Founder and Director of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, University College London (UCL).
Her highly acclaimed book The Entrepreneurial State: debunking public vs. private sector myths was on the 2013 Books of the Year list of the Financial Times. Her next book The Value of Everything was the winner of the 2018 Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought and was shortlisted for the Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year 2018.
