The Canadian Association for Girls In Science (CAGIS) is Canada’s largest and longest-running STEM club for girls, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming youth aged 7-16. This award-winning club, founded in 1992, supports interest in Science, Technology, Trades, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with virtual, hands-on programming every Saturday.
Attention helps people interact with the world and plays a role in creating memories. Get ready to pay attention: we will complete three fun attentional tasks and put our brains to the test!
Preparation: Mirror, heavy book or item to prop up a mirror, star handout (please print in advance of the session), cardboard box, pencil, and tape
Expert: Karen Mathias is a master’s student at the University of Waterloo, studying how elements of walking can provide insight into an individual’s brain health.
