JA Canada inspires students and prepares them to succeed in a global economy. They are the largest youth business education organization in Canada with a national office and 16 Charters serving students from coast to coast to coast. JA Canada works in partnership with educators, volunteers and to educate students about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.

What is Innovation Day (iDay)?

iDay was developed by JA Canada to help high school students understand and explore entrepreneurship, innovation and growing opportunities provided by innovation in Canada. Having developed insight and skills, students will return to their schools and communities with a new perspective on what is possible and how they can help make a positive impact for all Canadians.

iDay 2018, taking place on Thursday May 17 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, will involve approximately 250 students from across Canada who are exploring innovation culture as inspired by the “Ingenious: How Canadian Innovators Made the World Smaller, Smarter, Kinder, Safer, Healthier, Wealthier and Happier” book released last year by former Governor General Rt. Hon. David Johnston and Tom Jenkins.

In addition to hearing from keynote speaker Jason Goldlist of Wealthsimple, students will take part in interactive activities related to innovation, participate in roundtable discussions with both new and experienced entrepreneurs, and enjoy the opportunity to learn about life as an entrepreneur from some of Canada’s best role models.
