Celebrate #CanadianInnovationWeek with Youth Innovation Day (iDay)!
Rideau Hall Foundation is proud to be a co presenting partner with JA Canada! iDay was developed by JA Canada in 2017 to help high school students understand and explore entrepreneurship, innovation and growing opportunities provided by innovation in Canada. Having developed insight and skills, students will return to their schools and communities with a new perspective on what is possible and how they can help make a positive impact for all Canadians.
Students from across Ontario will explore the innovation culture as inspired by the “Ingenious: How Canadian Innovators Made the World Smaller, Smarter, Kinder, Safer, Healthier, Wealthier and Happier” book released by former Governor General Rt. Hon. David Johnston and Tom Jenkins. In addition to hearing from keynote speakers, students will take part in interactive activities related to innovation, participate in roundtable discussions with both new and experienced entrepreneurs, and enjoy the opportunity to learn about life as an entrepreneur from some of Canada’s best role models!
Our goal for the day is to enhance the participants understanding of innovation in the real world and inspire them to continue learning after high school. Youths will be exposed to the Canadian Innovation eco system, explore the concept of innovation, and celebrate Canadian innovators, innovations and how they have shaped Canadian lives.
